A Vibrant Place to Call Home

EDENWALD SENIOR LIVING COMMUNITY

MAXIMIZING SITE

The 12-story addition to the existing 18-story apartment building at Edenwald created additional amenities and expands its offering of independent living choices within its very limited available property. The Independent Living residences feature open floor plans, large balconies, and generous natural light in multiple plan options. To enrich the resident experience, amenities include a renovated formal dining room with a buffet and display cooking area, a new pub, multi-purpose room, and a state-of-the-art fitness and wellness center. The Wellness Center includes a large indoor pool, exercise areas, locker rooms, and social spaces. A renovation to the existing Healthcare Center provided a 24-bed Assisted Living/Dementia Care wing and a 24-bed Comprehensive Care Dementia wing on Floor One, and a separate 48-bed Comprehensive Care Wing on Floor Two.

SUSTAINABLE PRINCIPLES

Integrated within the building are principles of sustainable design with green roof technology, sun screens, an energy efficient thermal envelope, and HVAC systems. The green-roof provides an elevated terrace with a putting green, walking path, and other activity spaces for residents.

PRACTICAL PLANNING, MAINTAINING OPERATIONS

A strategic phasing plan with six main phases of construction enabled the community to maintain operations during construction and be as minimally disruptive to residents as possible.
